No Heathrow expansion, No Boris Island, Use the Midlands!

Birmingham airport have recently released a report that basically says it is nonsensical to continue trying to grow capacity in the South East alone. Other airports around the country are running well under maximum capacity (like Birmingham) and people still have to make long journeys from the Midlands down to London to catch flights. So why not expand elsewhere, other than London? All 3 Mildlands airports surely have potential: BHX and EMA could be busier, and COV has no airline services at all!

SAS to Stockholm from Birmingham!

Starting October 2012, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will begin flights from Birmingham to the Swedish capital city, Stockholm.

Flights will be 6 times weekly, operated by 737-600/700/800 aircraft. This follows the closure of Skyways (City Airline) which previously operated a route to Gothenburg in Sweden with Embraer 135/145's.
